Beaches

Castiglione della Pescaia is the focus of one of the most beautiful areas of the Tuscan Tyrrhenian coast.

The country.

After a beach day on the beautiful beaches around, it is relaxing to turn for a country that presents many opportunities for cultural visits and shopping. The medieval old town, perched on a promontory, offers wonderful views across the surrounding coast. Not to miss a visit to the Church of San Giovanni, and an external view of the imposing castle. From Via della Fortezza it is sloping to the modern area, where you can enter in the streets full of shops, or stroll along the seafront, stopping to enjoy an ice cream or to savor a delicious dinner in one of the many venues.

Eastern beaches.

Crossing the river Bruna, whose mouth is the marina and fishing port, heading for Marina di Grosseto, we are immersed in the beautiful pine forest of Tombolo placed behind the long beach of Le Marze. Mostly free, separated from the pine forest behind through high dunes up to two meters, you arrive by road through three entrances with parking adjacent. Often beaten by favorable winds, it is ideal for water sports. In an area called Bau Beach, you can arrange to be accompanied by his faithful four-legged friend. The can also be reached via a bike path and enjoy some refreshment kiosks. At the city’s waterfront continues with the Levante Beach, where there are some establishments also equipped for catering.

Poniente beach.

And ‘the equipped beach town par excellence, with fine golden sand, sandy bottoms and downs, waters without currents, very suitable for children. Establishments are accessible by a pedestrian path.

Rocchette.

At about 8 kilometers the country, we find Rocchette, beach characterized by fine sand, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and closed by the rocky promontory dominated by the remains of the fort. You can safely reach along a path that also touches on some secluded beaches. There are car parks, camping sites, factories and restaurants. A few kilometers before, Riva del Sole is particularly suited for summer rentals, equipped as it is with gathering places and with a beach bordered by dunes and a beautiful pine forest.

Towards Punta Ala.

From the extensive beach of House Civinini, overlooking the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and the nearby Torre Civette and Torre Hidalgo and Punta Ala Castle. You are reached only after having walked a path of about a kilometer, the charming Cala Martina, immersed in the scents of the Mediterranean plants.

Also Cala Violina, perhaps the most beautiful beach in the coast, requires the sacrifice of a walk, but, once there, the impression of being on a deserted tropical island will offset any fatigue. Two kilometers of beach characterize Punta Ala that behind it, as well as pine forests, even forests of cork oaks.
