About 18 kilometers from Castiglione della Pescaia and 12 kilometers from Grosseto, lies the charming seaside resort known as Principina a Mare surrounded by the pristine pine forest.
It is a small settlement built in the 60s distinguished by the lush vegetation where the tall pines tower as if they are guards, protecting the numerous typical animal and floral diversity of the wonderful Tyrrhenian Sea. The pine forest is the northern appendage of the Maremma Park, which is then extended to the south passing Talamone.
The beach and the park
The most beautiful unspoiled waters of the Tuscan coast bath the Principina a Mare coastline. Understandably, in 2015 for the fourth consecutive year, it has been awarded the prestigious blue flag. The beach is very large and well maintained, especially in the areas where you can find beach establishments. Access to the sea and parking are pretty easy. The beach can be reached from the village by foot or by bicycle.
The resort is popular with families with small children. You can enjoy the peace of this place thanks to its pleasant climate as the nearby hills protect it from rainfall and the frequent sea breeze makes the heat bearable.

Sailing is a great way to admire the unique scenery of Maremma and the sea. There are many yacht clubs that offer this option.
The pine forest is enriched with areas dedicated to children and rest areas for picnics, as well as a small outdoor gym located right on the bike path. The landscape makes it an ideal place to make long, pleasant, and relaxing walks where you can bump into natural lakes that offer shelter and refreshment to the species of birds that dwell in the vegetation of the park. It is also the ideal place to go jogging, especially in the summer.
